Where are you based?
Dartmoor, Devon, UK
What is your season?
23rd April – 30th Sept.
What is your age range?
18 – 70, upper limit is descretionary, sorry no u18’s
What is your weight limit?
Up to 14 stone though we have a couple horses that will carry 15 stone
What experience level do I need?
Intermediate – confident and in control on a moving horse at all paces outside an arena, but not riding regularly. Comfortable and competent using aids {you need to know what aids are} to communicate with your horse.
Do I need to have ridden western before?
No, provided you are a competent rider, we will show you the basics
What meals are included?
Breakfast, lunch and after riding tea/cakes etc. We don’t include an evening meal, where you stay has an excellent restaurant.
Do I have to wear a hard hat?
Yes, for your own safety. We have a few riders can borrow. Back protectors are personal choice.
What breed of horse do you use?
All Quarter horse geldings, 14:3hh to 16hh
Do you teach or offer lessons?
No, we are not a riding school, nor are we qualified to instruct, we offer riders the opportunity of experiencing our way of life.
Can we bring children?
Sorry 18+ only
Can non-riders join us at the accommodation?
Yes, we often get non-riders join their riding partner at the same accommodation, then do their own thing during the day
Do you do week-end breaks?
Sorry no, we are extremely busy during the week, weekends are our horses downtime.
Do you do 2 hour or half day hacks
No, the sortest experience is our Western Experience Days.
